Statement from the ISSA Board (2020-3-19)

The ISSA Board of Directors has canceled the following Spring 2020 ISSA regattas; Mallory, Baker, NIT, Phoebe Corckran King, and all District Championships (and their qualifiers). All other ISSA sanctioned high school regattas are cancelled through May 1, 2020. It is the intent of the ISSA Board to make a decision on the rest of the season in terms of District, league and local regattas no later than May 1, 2020.

We make this decision out of an abundance of care for the safety of our athletes, their parents, the coaches, the race officials, & the volunteers. While it is disappointing to all of us, we know it is the responsible thing to do at this time.

In light of the ongoing threat due to the Coronavirus, here is the high school sailing update (as of this moment),

NWISAs response to the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak in Washington State.

All the main events are scheduled for the spring 2020 season. The schedule can be found in on the schedule tab. A more in depth schedule is available here.

The top 36 singlehanded high school sailors from across the USA will compete in the 2019 Cressy High School Singlehanded Championship on November 2-3 in Santa Barbara, California.

Our annual membership meeting is at 8 a.m. on Sunday, November 10th at Chicago Yacht Club's Monroe Station.  This year both the Great Lakes Championship and Shepherd Championship will be in Monroe Harbor, so it should make it easier for those going to Shepherd to attend the meeting.

Please email sailingmissa@gmail.com if you plan on attending and say how many people from your location we should expect. We are looking for a rough headcount, so we can provide some refreshments.

With the completion of the NWISA Singlehanded Qualifer this last weekend at Shilshole, the fall qualifers for the Cressy, and the Girls and Keelboat Invitational are in the books!
