National Invitational Regatta

Saturday, May 23:

Saturday, May 23rd started with a skippers meeting at 0930. Racing took place on Lake Ontario with the wind starting out at 8 knots out of the South West. After the first flight, the wind shifted to the North West at 8-10 knots. With shift conditions all day, our last race of the day was race 49. Race 49 was canceled after we had a 180 degree wind shift which changed the race order. That race was abandoned and we went in for the day. To end the day, pizza was provided for everyone while our volunteer umpires from Hobart and William Smith Colleges conducted an umpire debrief.

Sunday, May 24:

Sunday we started out with race 49 that was canceled the day before. We again saw extremely shifty conditions all day with winds from 3-8 knots. Intentions of finishing three full round robins were slighted with a lack of wind in the latter part of the day. We ended up finishing the regatta with 2 round robins at approximately 1350. Hot dogs were provided for all as we conducted awards and everyone got on the road.
